The Cactus
One of the desert’s most thriving form of life, aside from the Exedians. These prickly plants produce spines and are often known as the most useful plants within Exedian culture. From their spines to their skins, to the size of their shape, there’s one substance that a majority of all Exedians know of: Cactus Juice!
Yes, Cactus Juice!
Yes, you’ve heard correctly, Cactus Juice. Although it may sound silly to the common ear to drink juice from such a plant, it’s actually a delicacy within Exedia, as well as being another source of minor hydration to survive within the harsh conditions of the desert.
Cactus Juice History
There were many, many different varieties of Exedians, all in which had developed in their own fields of science. Some even began to study of the desert plane in which they lived in and took an interest in the cacti within their desert. An Exedian scientist had stumbled upon a cactus due to his clumsy nature, in which he had broken off a piece of the cactus. He was nearby Exedia and had run out of water, then he began to take notice of the white fluid within the piece of the cactus he had broken off.
Plants take in sunlight and in which stores them with energy, which is photosynthesis. But all plants need water, but the cacti somehow drain up the water from the few rainstorms. "Maybe this is water?" Thought the scientist. It sparked his interest until he himself had consumed the fluid, taking a small amount before tasting its sour nature. Though he wasn't as thirsty, he began to drink more as he continued to make his way to the kingdom of Exedia. Upon his arrival, many of his collegues had wondered what had gotten into him, "Had he dropped his brain into the sands?" Exclaimed a collegue. "No! Tis' a remarkable substance! A- a juice of sorts! From a cactus!" The halfly drunken scientist spoke as his facial expression had been redden in blush and speech slurred slightly. "Cactus-juice?" Spoke another collegue. "Yes! Eureka! We have Cactus Juice!"
It was from this day that a large number of Exedians within Exedia took a liking to the juice. Often using a variety of substitutes, sugar being the main ingredient to counter the effects of the juice. And so, Cactus juice was born.

Why Cactus Juice?
There are a number of cacti within the deserts of Exedia that are used in such a mixture, but in order to counter the juice’s sour nature, a fair amount of water and sugar is needed in order to brew this juice. When consumed, cactus juice can assist with minorities such as a slightly stronger immune system and a slightly keen sight. Though many Exedian drinkers have used the substance as an alcohol replacement, in which they’re likely to be more prone to drinking cactus juice, seeing as it can be a bit addictive if taken in large amounts or simply as the cactus’ substance itself (w/out any countering substitutions).
A brief example of the recipe.
[Cactus Juice]
A clear white fluid smelling of sweetened cactus.
A clear white fluid smelling of sweetened cactus.
Whilst drinking the juice, the light drinker will experience the following:
-A light buzzing on their taste buds
-Faint urge to drink more
A heavy drinker can experience the following:
-Heated facial expression (Blushing, sweating, etc..)
-Uncontrollable salivation
-Slight to very random hallucinations
And all previous effects.
[OOC Notes]
These are just a few guidelines to go by, feel free to add in your own silly mixes in this!
Also, Exedians are the ones who've discovered it. This doesn't mean that someone of another race cannot make the juice, it's open to all, but isn't too well known amongst the other races from the mainland. At best, a large number of people within the island know much more of it due to it being a more open community between races.
Cactus juice is not a replacement for water, only a substitute in order to hold one's thirst in order to have more time to gain water.
