The Fallen Chronicle Rules

1. Derogatory remarks directed toward those on The Fallen Chronicle mediums of communication will not be tolerated. This includes racist/homophobic/sexual/otherwise vulgar terms or crude and insensitive comments for the sake of insulting the player they’re directed to.

2. Harassment - obsessive, malicious or nefarious behavior directed toward another player will not be tolerated.

3. Behavior that disrupts the flow of roleplay without directly isolating or targeting another player, while not as consequential, shall still be dealt with accordingly with clear protocol from now on. Essentially anything that is considered a joke taken too far.

4. The abuse of glitches or any exploits are not tolerated.

5. Your skin must be an RP-friendly representation of your character. Obscene, offensive, or non-rp skins are not allowed.

6. You must remain In-Character at all times when in-game. If you need to speak out of character, do so in private messages (via /msg <playername>) or local OOC chat (via starting your message with "((")

7. Metagaming is disallowed in its entirety. Metagaming is the use of information in roleplay that your character does not know. An example would be rallying troops to aid a friend even though your character would have no way to know he's in trouble.

8. Powergaming is disallowed in its entirety. Powergaming is forcing your emotes on another character. An example being the emote "John swings his sword at Tom, cutting his arm" where the emote forces the effect on the other player. An acceptable emote would be "John swings his sword at Tom, aiming to cut his arm." since the other player would be able to react to the emote.

9. Do not change your username to anything vulgar, inflammatory, or offensive to other players.

10. Impersonation of a Player or Staff Member, on any medium, will not be tolerated.

11. "Cyber-bullying", through repeated harassment or any other means will not be tolerated. Those partaking in or promoting such will be severely punished.

12. Hack-Clients, mods, or texture packs that provide an advantage are completely disallowed.

13. Moderator verdicts are final. Do not press the issue or go to another moderator if such a verdict is unfavorable to you.

Mission Statement

1. To remember that roleplay isn’t about winning or losing, but about storytelling. Allow roleplay to flourish, and act as a builder of an overall story.

2. To maintain respect while interacting with other players. Be a builder of this community, not a hinderance or detriment.

3. To actively be conscious of others’ feelings, and avoid placing personal goals/wants before everyone else's enjoyment.

4. To remember Staff are just as much part of the community as you are, so when disagreements arise, maintain a civil and concise disposition.

Perma Kill Rule:

Rule 1: Kill out of icly purposes, not out of hate

Due to the fact that this issue has been thrown around a lot, since not all of us are fond of each other (trust me I’d know,) it wouldn’t make much sense to bring that hate icly. Honestly, you’d probably break character if you exerted how you felt through your character and not how they’d feel in said situation (as much as that probably doesn’t make sense.. You get my point.) So if you don’t like someone icly, then just deal with it; aside from having both ends meet between you and the person you hate, you can’t really change a person much unless they do so. So if your character has a burning hatred towards someone, have an icly cause and not just because “THEY TOLD ME TO KMS, I’M GUNNA SO KILL THEIR CHARA LOL xd…!” For instance, maybe both characters have different views or you possibly hate each other out of icly purposes? Just don’t do it cause they called you a butt head in the OOC chat…

Rule 2: Three strikes and you’re out

This rule doesn’t really need much explanation, seeing that it was made for the purpose of preventing any sort of icly metagaming or having overpowered characters that don’t die till the age of 2,000 years old (unless you’re the type that gives your characters a reasonable and realistic life span, then I can relate.) So this is how things are gonna go: if you die three times, you’ll have to PK your character and create a new one, NO EXCEPTIONS. Failing to follow this rule will lead to punishment decided upon myself, and the rest of the staff. The idea of coming back from the dead and people still having recollections of your death is honestly really game breaking and can literally throw icly plots right out the window; hence the reason we’ve decided to create some limitations towards the concept of coming back from the dead.

Rule 3: ‘Twas all a dream...

On top of coming back from the dead being game breaking, it's even MORE game breaking to come back from the dead and having recollections of how you died. This can lead to a lot of problems and harcore metagaming. Aside from that, when your character dies, you CANNOT have ANY RECOLLECTION ON HOW YOU DIED AND WHERE YOU DIED. Don’t even pull that “I had this nightmare” bullshit on us. Failing to follow this rule will count as over the top metagaming and can possibly lead to punishment. The only exception we’ll make is if someone WHO WITNESSED YOUR DEATH explains to you how you died. If someone else WHO DIDN’T WITNESS YOUR DEATH metagames the information and or borderline metagames information upon your death, BOTH OF YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED TO BE METAGAMING AND POSSIBLY BECOME PUNISHED FOR IT, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Rule 4: Information on the target

If you do plan on killing and or assassinating someone, you CANNOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES metagame information on their nation, where they live, or who they’re connected to. The only exception we’ll make is if:

*You’re acquainted to the target

*Gain intel on their whereabouts and their daily life through icly means

*You’ve SEEN their whereabouts for yourself

*Or you go on a wild goose chase (without metagaming their whereabouts.)

No other exceptions will be made for any of these three.

Rule 5: Lifespan

According to xDK and possibly lore wise, the average human can live up to 140 years. Exceeding that age by a long shot may possibly be considered powergaming if you take the age span to your advantage (EX: average life span = 140 VS your character’s span = 160+.) Try to also be reasonable and realistic with your characters age and health status too, cause I highly doubt someone who’s 140 years old can barely lift a fucking longsword..

TIP:

When killing or disabling a character, please… I beg of you.. Try to push yourself to be more descriptive, detailed, and immersive with your emotes as you perform your actions. Doing so will make your roleplay experience more immersive and interesting between you and the victim; furthermore, the victim will have a slightly more enjoyable experience and have a better idea of what the scenario is (not saying y’all are masochists, but you get my point.)

*GOOD EMOTE: *Grasping ahold of the hack saw, a grin would come upon the figures face.. Approaching closer, [insert name here] would possibly have a better image of the figure holding the torture device. Before the figure could finally graze the hack saw upon their skin, he’d mutter under his breath “Isn’t this fun..?”

*BAD EMOTE: *Begins to saw hand off and laughs menacingly “Isn’t this fun.”

Furthermore, lacking any form of detail within an emote like this could possibly be accused of powergaming on the player-base, so emote wisely...
